LEAGUE HISTORY
The Bantam Football Program was established in 1970 by the Greenwood Jaycees, operating under their guidance for two years. In 1972, the Jaycees transferred control of the program to a group of local residents. That same year, the State of Indiana granted a “Charter of Incorporation,” officially founding the Greenwood Bantam Football League, Inc. (GBFL), a not-for-profit organization.
MISSION STATEMENT
Greenwood Bantam Football & Cheer is committed to giving young athletes, football players and cheerleaders an opportunity to develop themselves physically and emotionally through athletic participation. We will provide an environment that allows each athlete to develop skills needed to ensure success throughout their lifetime. We will accomplish this by providing a supportive atmosphere that builds confidence and self-esteem, teaches the value of teamwork and trust, and inspires everyone to give their very best effort at all times.
PLAYER ELIGIBILITY
GBFL offers flag football for K-1st grade, tackle football for 1st-6th grade, and cheerleading for 1st-6th grade. Grade level is determined by what grade they will be entering into for the fall semester.
